Notes for JAMES FRANKLIN YORK:

Parents George Washington York and Sebell (Springer) York , were found on the 1850 Ripley Co. Mo census. Have believed all along that they were somehow connected to Nancy Louisa York Hamilton, daughter of Riley and Hannah York, Born in Ripley Co. MO.

It is believed that James Franklin was not a true son to George York, but his real father had the last name of Hammer.

Mrs. Eliza Jane Russell, 76, RT 1, died at 1:05 PM Thursday at St. Vincent's Hospital Monett, after an illness.

Mrs. Russell was born January 6, 1902, in the State of Arkansas and moved to this area about five years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Roberson Rt. 1; four sisters, Mrs. Mandany Hamilton, Pierce City, Mrs. Plina Seward, Stark City, Mrs. Goldie Reed, Dayton Oregon, and Mrs. Cindy Merriman, Seneca. A brother Bill York, Rt. 2; five grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren, two stepsons, John Russell, Seneca and Charlie Russell, Neosho and two Stepdaughters, Mrs. Juanita York, Neosho and Mrs. Bessie Teagarden, Neosho.

Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday at the Campbell Biddlecome Funeral Chapel in Seneca. The Reverand D.C. Branham, Neosho will officiate, Burial will be in the Dice Cemetery.

Mary Hamilton 86, Rt. 2 Pierce City, died at 11:55PM Sunday at Oak Hill Hospital, Joplin, after a long illness.

Ms. Hamilton was born March 21, 1904 in the state of Arkansas and was a life long resident of the Pierce City area.

Survivors include three sons, Clifford Hamilton, Pierce City, Virgil Hamilton, Seneca, and Claude Hamilton, Wyandotte, OK. Two daughters, Beulah Hull, Wyandotts, OK and Sarah White, Granby. One brother, Bill York, Neosho, MO and one sister, Cindy Merriman, Wyandotte, OK. 15 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday at the Campbell Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca. Burial will be in the Black Fox Cemetery, near Ritchey.

Notes for CHARLES JACKSON HAMILTON:

Charles J. Hamilton, was a Veteran of World War I. He served as a Private in Company E., Missouri National Guards. Active duty in Company R 129th Machine Gun Battallion (October 1917).

Charles enlisted June 30, 1917 and was disharged January 8, 1918.

Charles died at home, of an apparent Heart Attack. He is buried in the Black Fox/Van Buren Cemetery, outside of Peirce City, MO Newton Co. He has a Military Headstone.

Charles Jackson Hamilton, 70, died at 5:15PM, Tuesday of an apparent heart attack in his home on Pierce City, Rt. 2, in the Ritchey community. Born May 8, 1891, in the Ritchey Community, Mr. Hamilton lived in the area all his life, he was a Veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Mandany Hamilton, three daughters, Miss Beulah May

Hamilton, of the home. Mrs. Sarah Elrod, Pierce City, Rt. 2, and Mrs. Ann Ottendorf, Ritchey. Two sisters, Miss Lillie Hamilton, Joplin, Mrs. Sarah Brewer, Miami Beach Florida. Mrs. Seward was born September 21, 1909 at Ritchey. She had lived in the Pioneer Community for the past five years, moving here from the Diamond area. She married William Lee Seward February 23, 1923 at Ritchey. He died October 17, 1976.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Lou Feeney, Purdy; and Mrs. Billie Tracey, Hutchison, KS; a brother Bill York, Neosho; two sisters, Mrs. Cindy Merriman, Wyandotte, OK; and Mrs. Dane Hamilton, Ritchey; 35 grand children and 38 great grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 PM Wednesday at McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton. The Reverand Jim Triplett will officiate. Burial will be in the Van Buren Cemetery, Ritchey. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

William L. Seward, 71 rural Stark City, was pronounced dead on arrival at Sale Memorial Hospital at 2:40 AM Sunday following an apparent heart attack at his home.

Mr. Seward was born April 3, 1905, in the State of Oklahoma and was a lifelong resident of the Wentworth and Stark City area.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma; one son Jack, Stark City, two daughters Mrs. Thelma Feeney, Purdy; and Mrs. Billie Tracey, Stark City; one brother, Harry, Seattle, Washington; four half brothers, Perry, Paul and Corbett, all of Dover OK; and Oliver, Russelville, AR; 33 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday in the Ritchey Holiness Church with the Reverand Gerald Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Van Buren Cemetery, North of Ritchey under direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton.

Juanita I. York, 79, Neosho Rt. 3, died at 7 AM Friday at Oak Hill Hospital, Joplin after one year of ill health.

Mrs. York was born December 7, 1914, at Fairview. She lived in the Racine area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Petecostal denomination.

She married William H. York on July 9, 1935 at Ritchey. He survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Lloyd York and Leroy York, both of Neosho; two daughters, Jessie Bates, Neosho and Letha Fritchey, Seneca; a brother, Charlie Russell, Neosho; two sister, Bessie Teagarden, Miami, OK and Wanda Delmez, Pittsburg, KS; eight Grandchildren; four Stepgrandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; and three Great Stepgrandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 AM Monday at Burkhart Cemetery, Racine. The Reverand John Scudder will officiate.

Arrangements are under direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Cinderella Merriman Horton 74, Wyandotte, OK died Tuesday morning at her home after a long illness. Mrs. Horton was born May 22, 1917 at Ritchey, and had lived all her life in the Seneca area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Racine Apostolic Church.

She married Arnold Merriman, in November 1932, he died October 1978.

She married Ray Horton, in August 1991, he survives. Additional survivors include five sons; A.J. Merriman and Ted Merriman, both of Wyandotte. John R. Merriman and Rod Merriman, both of Seneca and Claude Merriman, Carl Junction, MO. Two daughters, Emma Atchison, Wyandotte, OK and Phylis Reed Grove, OK. A brother, Bill York, Seneca; 25 Grandchildren and 33 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:00 PM, Friday at Racine Apostolic Church, with Reverand Jim Triplett officiating. Burial will be in the Van Buren Cemetery, near Ritchey, under direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK.
