Our client, a world leader in equipment and services for the passenger rail industry, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join its transit and passenger rail division. Multiple opportunities are available in Chicago, IL and Washington, DC.
This role requires an individual with experience in passenger rail train sets and with prior experience with a local or regional or national transit authority. She/he may also possess broad knowledge and experience with electrical, mechanical or hydraulic systems and sub-systems.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

? Minimum 3 years of experience in passenger train set maintenance operations
? Previous experience with transit AC/DC power issues
? Knowledge of AM7 and HHP8 trains highly desirable

The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for the safety performance, operating practices, customer satisfaction and financial productivity of the operation to which he/she is assigned. The Assistant Manager works in the training and development of all employees of the assigned operation. The Assistant Manager takes a leadership role in supervising crews and helps the Manager in maintaining payroll within the targeted budget. The Assistant Manager participates or assists in the investigation of all personal injuries, derailments, accidents or near misses, and helps the Manager in making proper notification and documentation.
This position requires one that has mechanical/electrical aptitude. Must have knowledge of locomotives and cars, including Mechanical and Electrical knowledge.
Must have excellent safety record, and be familiar with the work scope in order to recognize unsafe work habits or practices.
